With reference to the current Draft Kilkenny County Development Plan and under the list of Protected Structures, reference no. 12328012, - ADD / 094/ 13 I wish to ask that this derelict building which is owned by me is not added to the List of Protected Structures for the following reasons,
• The building is a reasonably old farmhouse but is modem as far as heritage is concerned.
• The building is uninhabitable and hasn't been lived in for years.
• There are no windows left in the house.
• There is no water or electricity connected to the house.
• The house is dangerous if entered and people make their way upstairs.
• The house is basically gone way beyond reconstruction state.
• It would have to be demolished and built from the ground up to make it safe.
• The costs of doing this would be astronomical and my resources would not allow me to even contemplate this.
• There are many similar farmhouses in Mooncoin currently habited and in good condition.
Hopefully you will take on board my request not to have this derelict house added to the List of Protected Structures.
